RIDING IN WEST CARLETON
Mandatory requirements to ride an ATV include:
- Driver's License: You must have a valid Ontario driver's licence (Minimum G2 or M2)
- Club Membership: Anyone operating an ATV on designated municipal roads or trails must be a valid member of the OFATV with the West Carleton ATV Club.
- Insurance and Registration: Your ATV must be properly registered with the province, display a rear license plate, and carry valid liability insurance.
- Safety Gear: Riders must wear an approved motorcycle helmet and ensure their vehicle has headlights and taillights turned on at all times.
- Speed Limits: Maximum speed on the shoulder of the road is typically 20 km/h if the posted speed is 50 km/h or less. If the road's speed limit exceeds 50 km/h, the ATV speed limit is 50 km/h.

About Us
The West Carleton ATV Club is a local, volunteer-driven club dedicated to promoting safe, responsible ATV riding in West Carleton and the surrounding area. As part of the OFATV network, we support responsible trail use, rider education, and respectful partnerships with our community.
At this time, our club is working hard to grow riding opportunities for our members. We are always looking to connect with landowners who may be interested in allowing a properly planned and maintained ATV trail on their property.
Our goal is to build a respectful, family-friendly ATV community while protecting the land, supporting local partners, and creating safe places to ride for years to come.

Trail Pass
The West Carleton ATV Club serves the interests of ATV and side by side enthusiasts with the objective to promote the safe operation of ATV’s. The Club is currently in the process of establishing trails in the local region and our members have access to thousands of kilometres of trails across Ontario. The Club also offers ATV riding courses, focusing on safety. All of the Club’s activities are carried out by volunteers. Get your trailpass permit now and start riding!
